AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND PROVIDING FOR THE FUTURE DETERMINATION OF HOOKUP/CONNECTION AND CAPITALIZATION FEES FOR SERVICE CONNECTIONS ESTABLISHED AFTER JUNE 13, 1999, TO THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM OF THE NORTH KOOTENAI WATER DISTRICT.

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND PROVIDING THAT THE NORTH KOOTENAI WATER DISTRICT WILL SERVE WATER TO A LOCATION ONLY WHEN THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY TO BE SERVED HAS UNDERTAKEN THE LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PAY TO THE NORTH KOOTENAI WATER DISTRICT ALL COSTS AND FEES, INCLUDING FEES FOR DELIVERED WATER, ASSOCIATED WITH WATER SERVICE TO SUCH PROPERTY.

Rates

Rates and Regulations (Excluding Gozzer)

System Access Fee: (Res. 2008-20):

• $15.00 per dwelling unit or commercial unit per month.
  

Rate Structure: (Res. 2008-20):

Debt Service Surcharge: (Res. 2006-06):

• $3.82 per dwelling unit or commercial unit per month.
  

Street Light Surcharge: (Res. 2007-03):

• $2.78 per residential user in Valley Green Subdivision.
  

Park Maintenance Surcharge: (Res. 2007-03):

• $5.16 per residential user in Valley Green Subdivision.
  

Fire Service Charge: (Res. 2001-06):

• Privately owned fire protection:

• Water used from a fire hydrant for other than fire suppression or testing will be billed at $100.00 per occurrence.

Regulations: (Res. 2001-06)

1. Water service discontinued for any reason shall continue to be billed on a monthly basis for System Access Fee and for Debt Service Surcharge.
2. Property owners shall be responsible for payment of bills.
   

Bill Payment: (Res. 2001-06)

1. Bills are due and payable upon presentation.
2. At 30 days: bills become delinquent.
3. At 45 days: delinquent notice is mailed to customer.
4. At 59 days: delinquent notice is posted on the property ($20.00 fee added to delinquent balance).
5. At 60 days: water is locked off.
6. Water service will be restored only during normal work hours after delinquent amount plus a $20.00 reconnection fee is paid at office.
   

Water Meter Upsize:

1. The upsizing to a 1” meter in a 1” service will be $100.00 based upon actual time and material estimate.
2. Revamping in-box plumbing to 1”, and adding 1” meter, will be $600.00 based upon actual time and material estimate.

• Water - $46.18 per dwelling unit or commercial unit per month (includes 15,000 gallons of water).
