Work is underway on the Avondale and Point Hayden Waterline Project!

     NKWD awarded the project to MDM Construction out of Hayden, Idaho.       

The Contractor began construction on Point Hayden the week of August 23.  Expect road closures (for through traffic) during main line construction over the next two to three weeks.  Also expect to encounter rough road conditions in these areas until such time as the roadway restoration is completed.  

The Contractor began construction on Avondale Lane and Avondale Loop the week of July 12 and has begun installation of the water main working north.  Expect road closures (for through traffic) during main line construction over approximately the next month.  Also expect to encounter rough road conditions in these areas until such time as the roadway restoration is completed. 

     The following is the tentative construction schedule for the project:

·       Merman, Kensington, Trafalgar, Avon Circle, Strahorn: 

              Main line:  Complete

              Services:  Complete

              Roadway:  Complete

              Final Clean-up: August 24 to September 7

·  09/02/10 Update: 

Avondale Area:

       Mainline installation along Avondale Lane, Avondale Loop, Brighton Court and Thames Court is complete.  The mainline will now be flushed and tested (pressure and bacteria).  Service installation is complete for Avondale Lane and is proceeding north along Avondale Loop.  As of this morning, service installation was complete to approximately 2000 feet north of Avondale Lane (near 11719 N. Avondale Loop).

       Road work on Avondale Lane is underway.  Base rock has been installed for the length of Avondale Lane.  Excavation and base rock installation began approximately 1300 feet north of Avondale Lane (near 11491 N. Avondale Loop) working south towards Avondale Lane today.  The Contractor expects to complete approximately 600 feet of excavation and base rock installation every two days. 

 The main roadway along Merman, Kensington, Trafalgar and Avon Circle has been paved.  Final cleanup of this area is scheduled to be complete next week.

       Kensington is now open to through traffic.

       No work will occur on Monday, September 6.

       Point Hayden Area:

       Mainline installation began at the intersection of Point Hayden West and Point Hayden East and is proceeding along Point Hayden West toward Lake Forest Drive.  As of this morning, approximately 1,000 feet of mainline was installed. 

No work will occur on Monday, September 6.

            Main line:  July 15 through August 31

            Services:  August 12 through September 10

            Roadway:  August 25 through September 22

           Final Clean-up: September 29 through October 13

·        Point Hayden

            Main line:  August 25 through September 22

            Services:  September 22 through October 6

            Roadway:  October 6 through October 25

           Final Clean-up:  October 25 through November 3

·        Construction Completion:  November 14

  • For those customers shut off in the lake during the winter, service was restored on Monday, 05/03/10.

NKWD - Future Service Area Analysis
